ABOUT
The Homestead High School Martial Arts Club allows Homestead students to implement mental philosophies of martial arts to ameliorate their overall selves. In addition, we aim to instruct various styles of martial arts with a focus on self defense, which are skill-sets that are currently and will continue to be very important to everyone in society. Students would learn such skills through carefully controlled and safe hands-on martial arts instructional seminars and volunteerism, and various volunteer opportunities, such as volunteering at martial arts tournaments and cultural shows, are provided for members of the club.

Sarah Kondo
President
Hi, my name is Sarah Kondo and as a senior, I am the President of HHS’s Martial Arts Club! I’ve done kung-fu for 9 years and Tae Kwon Do for 5, with a fourth degree black belt in kung fu and first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Besides martial arts, I love art, reading, and writing. Hey, my name is Megan Ikeya, and I am the Secretary/Treasurer of the Homestead High School Martial Arts Club. I started doing Tae Kwon Do in the 3rd grade, and have been doing it since. I currently have a 2nd degree black belt. I am in the graduating class of 2019 at Homestead.
Cara Cleveland
Activities Director
Hi! My name is Cara Cleveland, and I'm currently a senior at Homestead High School. As the Activities Director of the Martial Arts Club, I am the main planner and instructor of the club's activities and events. I started practicing Krav Maga (Israeli martial arts) when I was nine, and I've been doing it ever since. In addition to Krav Maga, I also practice Jujitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and MMA.

Hello, my name is Emma Ikeya, and I am the Public Relations Officer of the Homestead High School Martial Arts Club. I started doing Tae Kwon Do in the 1st grade, and continued doing martial arts for 8 years. I have a 2nd degree black belt. I am in the graduating class of 2021 at Homestead High School.
